Ok not great but .... After doing some painting last night I went out side to view the sky I decided to practice for the full moon tomorrow night (I got some almost full of this one but I will wait to see what I get tomorrow before I post) I got a few good shots and even though it was pretty cloudy I was suprised at what I got.... Not only the cloudy moon but the three Planets Arcturus,Spica, and Saturn
If you look to the left of this image ( full view reccomended ) you will see a red and white ray of light. I am not sure what these are maybe they are planes taking a picture of the stars, or it could even be a UFO'S landing on their home, who know's we never will... lol BUT
Despite the glare of tonight’s full-looking waxing gibbous moon, you should see three objects small star AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RAYS. Two are stars – bright orange star top left is Arcturus the brightest star in the constellation Bootes the Herdsman and silvery-blue star Spica is to the right in the constellation. AND The third object just below, is the magnificent planet Saturn the brightest star, which makes the tail of the constellation the Bootes..
It's times like this I wish I had a telescope AS They are quite small here but in several days from now, when the moon drops out of the sky, Saturn and Spica will be even more visible against a darker sky background. So keep an eye on them, and, when the moon is out of the way, be sure to note the beautiful contrast of color between golden Saturn and sparkling blue-white Spica.
